PRIVATE ROOMS
The accommodations at Spey Lodge are very comfortable and spacious,
with only six guided anglers a week. All guests enjoy private single
occupancy rooms with their own private bathrooms. The lodge also has two
large lounges, gear room, dining room and four acres of property that has
two trails down to the Skeena River.
Spey Lodge entertains guests from early April to late November. The
best time to come to Spey Lodge is relative to the angler's goals, have a
look at our seasons page to help define what time is best for you. Our
target species and rivers vary from month to month, but our techniques
stay relatively the same; generally we swing wet flies with floating lines
and light wet tips or we skate dry flies..
We
of course specialize in the use of Spey rods (two handed fly
rods). A single-handed eight-weight rod will work just fine most of the
time, but with the Salmon often exceeding thirty pounds and the Steelhead
sometimes exceeding twenty pounds the risk of being under gunned is always
there. The Spey rod balances the odds in your favor; slightly, but on
occasion even a 15 foot 9 weight seems small. A Salmon or Steelhead making
a 15-foot rod seem small is reality at Spey Lodge.
We look forward to providing you with on the water lessons in all
aspects of Spey Casting. Lessons in casting (Spey or Single) are part of
the all-inclusive package.
